There is seriously no excuse to dump the idea of set up your online business. It is easier to set up and it obviously works. People are becoming billionaires through their online businesses while you’re just trying to figure out if it is the right thing for you!

Of course, it is the right thing. As I always say, just do it. Either it will work or it will show you a way that works. It’s a win-win situation.

Today, I am going to talk about the basic things you need to know to set up your online business. Before I begin, let me inform you that this is going to be the first article of the big series we’re planning on Startup Champ which would be all about online business and would cover the basics as well as advanced aspects of setting up an online business. Let’s get started!

  1. Figure out the ‘NEED’: People are always looking for help. There is so much going on in the world that you need some sort of assistance all the time. Find out what need of people isn’t fulfilled yet and tap that. You need to focus on that need for that is going to be your ‘BIG BUSINESS IDEA’.
  2. Prepare your selling pitch: If you were wondering if there is actually some business idea that has still not been implemented, there are many. You would actually need to choose one of them and work on it. Once you know what you want to sell, you must figure out how you’re going to sell it. Prepare the selling pitch, polish it and once you have a perfect selling pitch, move on to the next point.
  3. Design your Website: This is the most important point. Your website’s design would play a big role in your business. A good design would lead you to success and a bad one can get you bankrupt. So, give utmost attention to the design of your website.
  4. Spread the word: Now, you need to tell people that you’re out in the playground. You need to spread the word. Use marketing and advertisement campaigns. Social networking sites, search engines, offline marketing – everything is important. Strategize and start working on it.
  5. Build your Brand: No one likes to take help from amateurs. Only experts make profits from business. Be the experts in your field. Build your reputation and brand. Once this is done, you would have customers willing to buy from you all the time.
  6. Focus on customer relationship: New businesses often ignore this part. But wise are the ones who always work while keeping this as their core value. Customers are gods for a business. You need to keep them happy and make them trust you. So, instead of focusing on doing one-time sales, you must be working on making one customer shop from you again and again.
